GYNECOLOGICAL SERVICES

Dr. Theodore Tsaltas performs a full range of gynecological surgical procedures and office evaluations, including routine pap smears and annual exams, evaluation of abnormal pap smears, colposcopy, in-office vulvar biopsies when appropriate and gynecological ultrasound. 3D uterine volume reconstructions, helpful in cases of IUD problems and fibroids, are performed, as are sonohysterography and endometrial biopsy.

A wide range of surgical services are offered as well. Dr. Tsaltas has been the leading gynecological surgeon at Mercy Medical Center for 9 continuous years. All common surgical procedures are performed, including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy. Dr. Tsaltas has significant additional training in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques, and performs hysteroscopic metroplasties, septoplasties and myomectomies. More than 95% of his major surgery is accomplished laparoscopically, including hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomies up to 25 cms in size (10 inches), oophorectomy, myomectomy and management of endometriosis.

Pelvic reconstruction for prolapse is also performed, as well as urinary incontinence surgeries.   Labiaplasty and hymenotomy are performed, as well as all other common vulvar surgeries.

All common procedures for abnormal pap smears and vaginal abnormalities are performed also.
