DR. THEODORE TSALTAS
Dr. Theodore Tsaltas
received his undergraduate degree in civil
engineering at the University of Pennsylvania
and his medical degree from Washington
University in St. Louis, which is perennially
ranked among the top 10 medical schools in the
country. He performed his residency at Beth
Israel Medical Center in New York, with his
fellowship in endocrinology at the University of
Illinois in Chicago.
In practice since
1988, Dr. Tsaltas is board certified in
Obstetrics and Gynecology, and recertifies
annually. In addition, he has had substantial
additional training in advanced laparoscopic and
hysteroscopic surgical techniques and in
ultrasound. He has performed more than 900
laproscopic hysterectomies in the last 11 years,
and a total of more than 2500 laparoscopic
cases. Additionally, he has performed more than
15,000 ultrasound procedures of various kinds.
Dr. Tsaltas holds certification in laser surgery
and also the NCC Certification of Added
Qualification in electronic fetal monitoring.
His many
Professional Awards include the ACOG district VI
prize, the ACOG-Mead Johnson Award, and ACOG’s
continuing education awards for nine straight
years. And, for 5 straight years, he has been
chosen by the Consumer’s Research Council as one
of the top physicians in the United States. As a
Tau Beta Pi honors society engineer, and
received the Hugo Otto Wolf memorial prize in
civil engineering.
Dr. Tsaltas is a
clinical professor of Ob/Gyn at Lincoln Memorial
University. He has lectured in numerous
hospitals in the northeast, including NYU and
Beth Israel in New York, Pennsylvania Hospital
in Philadelphia, and Georgia Baptist and
Piedmont hospitals in Atlanta.
He has served Mercy
Medical System as chief of staff, head of
quality assurance and chair of the department of
Obstetrics and Gynecology.
